Dr. Kit Schmidt
Kit A Schmidt, DVM
Dr. Schmidt came to Cortez from a farm and ranch background in Fort Lupton, Colorado, and joined Montezuma Veterinary Clinic in 1982. Dr. Schmidt received both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Colorado State University. Dr. Schmidt is a member of the American Association of Equine, Bovine, and Small Ruminant Practitioners, the American and Colorado Veterinary Associations, and The American Veterinary Dental Society, and the Society of Veterinary Theriogenology. In addition to general veterinary medicine, Dr. Schmidt’s special interests are surgery, equine lameness, and dentistry. He enjoys team roping, hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Shane Cote, DVM
Dr. Cote joined the Montezuma Veterinary Clinic in 2002 after practicing for two years in Rawlins, Wyoming. Dr. Cote received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2000 after completing his Bachelor of Science at the University of Wyoming. Dr. Cote is a member of the American and Colorado Veterinary Medical Associations, and a previous member of the American Bovine and Equine Associations. Prior to Veterinary School, Dr. Cote served in the Navy and Desert Storm. Dr. Cote comes from a ranch background in Wyoming and enjoys family time, archery, building, and tinkering. In addition to general veterinary medicine, Dr. Cote’s special interests include ultrasound, surgery, bovine production medicine, equine medicine and exotics.

 

 

Dr. Amanda Murdock joined the Montezuma Veterinary Clinic in June of 2007.  She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Minnesota. Previous to veterinary school she lived in Arizona and Texas.  She is a member of the American and Colorado Veterinary Medical Associations, American Association of Bovine Practitioners, and the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners.  Dr. Murdock’s interests are comparative medicine, surgery, small ruminants/camelids, obstetrics and public health.  Dr. Murdock enjoys camping, fishing, and family activities.
