"Korny" ”The “Korny fund was started in March 2007 at Montezuma Veterinary Clinic by some very nice people in the memory Monica and Terry Gorsuch’s beagle Korny. Korny succumbed to a variety of heart problems on March 7, 2007 and his friends wanted to create a memorial in his name. The intent of the fund is to assist those with the partial cost of veterinary services who wish to provide their pet with a long, health life. Currently, the “Korny” fund is in the infant stages and adaptations can be made as deemed fit to provide an efficient system to help those in need with their veterinary bills. Unfortunately, unless the fund grows dramatically, decisions on where best to use it should be made frugally. For instance, it shouldn’t be used for likely terminal cases that will only serve the pet owner and not the pet. To help the fund grow, it would be helpful if the patrons of Montezuma Veterinary Clinic were made aware of the cause and given the opportunity to donate. Hopefully, many of those who benefit from the “Korny” fund today will be able to contribute in the future if their financial situation allows. In conclusion, the “Korny” fund’s intent is to help those who desire the best care for their pet, but cannot afford the rising costs of veterinary bills. Our family believes that it is very important to spare no expense when it comes to the treatment and care of our animals, especially in the diagnostic and preventative maintenance stages. Our hope is that the “Korny” fund will help those who believe the same but may not be able to afford the entire cost of the treatment.
Sincerely,
Monica and Terry Gorsuch
